Filming

On Saturday 21st Of January, we had our final day of filming, Gabbie, Jack and Christina were present along with our two actors, the murderer and the victim. We had noticed during our editing session there were some continuity errors that we felt affected our film opening. For example, we hadn't had the CCTV finished on the previous days filming so the glow from the TV was white not green like it should have been so we had to refilm once we had the CCTV finished. Another matter was that some of the shot were not as smooth as they could have been, so we all made a conscious decision to reshoot them.

 One thing we ensured remained consistent was the make up there fore we had Gabbie doing it every time and each time she referred to the photo we took on the first day of filming.

During our filming we enusred that the lighting for each shot was good, by testing it before hand, in previous days of filimg we hadnt done this and some shot ended up darker than expected. 

Lighting Testing

We have experimented with different styles of lighting that we could use in our opening clip. I have taken a number of pictures of a saw from the same angle, positioned where the opening will be be set. I have use different lighting angles and colour filters to produce the effect we want. We want a blue, dull light to portray an atmosphere of stress that the murderer will cause the victims and the mental and spiritual nightmares they are faced with.

I used three different bulbs, each with different shades of blues and different angles to create different effects. As we could not easily get any light filters or gels in the desired colours, I used spray paint and coloured in the various bulbs. I also used cut outs of blue shopping bags to create the blue effect.

Lighting; Filter Gels

To create a more vivid and tenser atmosphere, we shall use coloured filters/gels with our lighting. After analysing lighting in other films such as paranormal activity, we have concluded that a dark blue and red would be suitable for our film. Blue creates a cold, lifeless atmosphere and we would use this shade of light on our victim. This would represent him as being in a helpess state foreshadowing that he has no chance of surviving.It also shows that he would feel afraid and confused. We would then use dark red/yellow on our murderer to show he has a violent and dark presence.
